Staying with Simone and Simona was the absolute highlight of our trip. It was our first leg, and we kept wishing we had stayed with them the whole time. These people are creating and living the dream — a beautifully restored farmhouse in the hills of Umbria, off-grid and devoted to the natural world. They treated us like old friends and family from the minute we arrived and were incredibly generous with their garden. Simo even helped us piece together some loose parts on our rental car! :) The view was incredible, the wildlife was abundant, and the dogs were friendly. We were able to ground and rest while eating ripe figs and listening to tawny owl calls into the night. We hope they know how much their hospitality means to us. We loved our stay at Podere Vallescura, and have nothing but good things to say about it. Apartment is modern, in restored old building with beamed and tiled ceilings. Very clean; comfortable bed and good bathroom. Set in a quiet beautiful landscape with wonderful sunsets from the terrace above the olive grove. Simo and Sima are extremely kind generous hosts, and we much appreciated the organic eggs and honey etc and being able to pick tomatoes, herbs and figs from the garden. Last but not least the six affectionate but well behaved dogs who welcomed us to their farm. We would have liked to have stayed longer, and would love to return soon.

Our stay was absolutely wonderful. They were great at communicating with us prior to our arrival, answering questions that we had and providing things that we requested. When we arrived it was raining and they met us in the driveway with umbrellas, so we felt right at home from the beginning. The location is absolutely beautiful and a great place to kick back and relax. It's 30 minutes to the city of Perugia and you can take day trips to other areas like Spello and Assisi (our recommendations). There are several trails you can hike on the property, including through the olive tree groves. There are so many things to eat along the way, including figs, plums, berries, and herbs. Simone and Simona allowed us to harvest veggies/herbs from the garden and gave us eggs from the chickens regularly. The 6 dogs are beautifully mannered and we enjoyed spending time with them. Abbiamo passato quattro giorni meraviglioso! Simona e Simone sono i host perfetti! Loro sono molto simpatici, cordiali e attenti. What an exceptionally nice place to stay. A warm welcome from this couple and their dogs will make you feel right at home. Life here is exactly as it is meant to be. Simple, pure and close to nature. The ideal place to slow down, to disconnect from your daily life. And if you like cuddling then you will really enjoy yourself here. There are 6 dogs who all enjoy being petted equally. As a thank you for this, they watch over the house and the guests at night and keep the wild boars away. A vacation you will never forget! Sehr freundliche Gastgeber, jederzeit hilfsbereit. Ruhige, abgelegener Bauernhof in rustikaler Atmosphäre aber vollständig restauriert. Komplett abseits in den Bergen. Gut mit dem Auto erreichbar. We had a beautiful stay at the house of Simone and Simona. Clean, quiet, immersed in beautiful Umbrian nature. If you want to "unplug" and do a digital detox, this is the place to go. The hosts were very friendly and availale at all times. It felt like home from the beginning when we were greated by the family's friendly dogs and with freshly laid eggs from the farm's free-range hens. We absolutely loved our stay on the farm. We enjoyed our walks and quiet time and our informative chats with our lovely hosts. Perfect place for our family of 4 and a great retreat from the August crowds in Italy. Highly recommend.
